ACULAX SYRUP 150 ml

Aculax syrup contains lactulose. It makes the stool softer and easier to pass, by drawing water into the bowel. Aculax syrup is used to treat constipation.

Adults:
Usual initial dose: 30 ml
Maintenance dose: 15 ml - 30 ml
Children (6 - 14 years):
Usual initial dose: 15 ml
Maintenance dose: 10 ml - 15 ml
Children (1 - 5 years):
Usual initial dose: 10 ml
Maintenance dose: 5 ml - 10 ml
Infants:
Usual initial dose: 5 ml
Maintenance dose: 2,5 ml - 5 ml
Use of laxatives in children, infants and babies should be exceptional and under medical supervision because it can influence the normal reflexes for passing stools.
Do not give Aculax syrup to children before consulting your health care provider.

Warnings and Contraindications

Do not take Aculax Syrup: if you are allergic to Aculax syrup or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. if you suffer from galactosaemia (a severe genetic disorder where you cannot digest galactose), acute inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis), blockage in your bowel (apart from normal constipation), digestive perforation or risk of digestive perforation or unexplained abdominal pain. • if you suffer from unexplained tummy ache • if you are unable to digest milk sugar (lactose intolerant) • if you have diabetes
